How much should I pay a man to mow my lawn?
He is planning on using his lawnmower (although we have one). We have a pretty small front yard although it is fairly weedy right now.

I pay $20 for my front and back lawns which are small. I have had a contract for years and the price has not gone up so that’s probably pretty low.
Going rates here are:
$78.50 per visit (1 acre) (Range: $64.00 – $93.00)
$55.00 per visit (½ acre) (Range: $47.00 – $63.00)
$37.68 per visit (¼ acre) (Range: $32.72 – $42.63)
Pretty fair if you asked me.
It depends on how many square feet there are, if he/she charges by the square foot, or how long it takes him/her if they charge by the hour. My yard is 5000 square feet and it takes ½ hour for me to mow it, clippings not bagged. If a guy charged me $20 I’d think it was fair.
I am a cheap skate, and ^ I would say nobody will do that much for twenty.
However, a smaller yad mow only $20 is fine. If the weed wacktifht spots, trim a hedge or low branches, $25 to $35, depending on how long it takes.
A good customer notices if they have a cooler with them. It is thirsty work, and a cold beverage is appreciated when they haven’t brought their own.
Last year my yard was a menace for the first mow because it took a while to find someone with an open time slot. Some boys came by, and did it for twenty, but they had underestimated the task. When they were near done I called Papa John’s, and ordered a large pizza and two liter. It got here just as they were gathering their gear. They were so happy!
I pay 50.00 for an acre and that includes weed eating and blowing off my driveway and sidewalk.
The same as you would pay a woman.
We pay $40 for ¼ acre which includes mowing, weed whacking of walkways, edging, bagging and hauling of waste. And this is in and outside the fence.
I have no idea how to describe the size of my lawn? It’s a city lot. I pay $27 for mowing & weedwhacking.
Holy cow! Can y’all tell I didn’t check for typos? Lol!
@Patty_Melt I thought that the earthquake shook your keyboard.
I have a big yard and I pay 30 dollars. The rate’s been the same for about 18 years. The guy is my neighbor and uses his mower. I’m friends with him and his wife and I give him money and/or stuff at Christmas and other times of the year. I just gave him a big bottle of vodka for an Easter gift (Costco Kirkland brand made by Grey Goose, about 12.99).
Thanks all. Good input. I ended up paying him $35 for mowing and edging.
