Is it normal for TacoTime resturants to serve soft tacos cold?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) April 17th, 2020

I ordered four soft beef tacos and they were cold, and the cheese wasn’t melted.

I ended up microwaving one at a time and they tasted great.

Is it normal?

I didn’t know they have TacoTime in Canada, but no, not normal. Maybe not always hot, but at least warm and melted cheese. Yeah I’d call them on it.

Its colder in Canada, so it sounds perfectly normal.

Plus, think how long it takes to get from Mexico to Canada and its no surprise that they’d be cold. Canada’s wonderful, but you can’t have everything.

I love TacoTime. When I worked at the theater one of the girls that worked with us was dating a manager at the TacoTime across the street. So we worked out a deal where the theater employees got free food and they got free movies. This deal was really lopsided. I would eat there everyday and they would only see a movie or two a month.

But the soft tacos should be nuked. The hard shell ones are cold.

I’m not sure if they still do it but TacoTime used to get a lot of their ingredients from Costco. They would get the big tubes of ground beef and and mix in spices and cook it in this big metal tub. Compared to Taco Bell where the “meat” comes in plastic bags pre-cooked.
