Talking through a movie, probably.
She was trying to drown my singing out with her own louder singing.
Can’t have that.
yesterday. Granddaughter at dinner. Her parents and I were in the middle of a conversation. She interrupted. She was told “shhh”.
She had to wait about 60 seconds for her turn.
That would be my daughter when, just now, she asked why I was bothering to answer on “that crap site!”
I didn’t exactly sush her, more smiled in quiet agreement :D
Every two seconds.
I sweat kids get louder when anyone is on a conference call.
Well – I am a retired librarian, you know!
That was when my grandpa ‘died’.
I pointed silently to something I wanted my husband to notice without calling others’ attention to it. With his customary discretion, he uttered a loud “What’s that?” And so I said “Shh.”
For some reason I never expect it when he does that. I’m the one who hasn’t learned.
At a meeting, someone was reading to the group, and two people in the back were joking around.
They were talking about nothing in particular when I was trying to hear the birds sing.
Something on the news was more interesting to me than it was to the person I shushed.
