My ONLY preference with a beard is that he doesn’t try to be lovey dovey during the initial grow out phase…there’s nothing worse than a scratchy beard!!! I’m of the opinion that a man’s beard is much like a woman’s hairdo…it’s what they feel comfortable wearing. IF having a beard makes him happy, I’m going to be happy with him. IF he doesn’t want to bother with growing one, I really don’t care. I voice my opinion on many things, but my man’s facial hair is NOT one of them!!!
It depends on the face it’s attached to.
My husband often grows one starting at the autumnal equinox and shaves at the vernal.
When it comes time to shave, he lets me cut it into different shapes and various styles of beard, goatee & mustache.Pencil-thin is usually the very last style.
That is when I say Danke Schoen
With. My Ex always had one and I find I’m most drawn to men with beards. I don’t like them long and shaggy though. Nicely trimmed.
Many thnga more important than beard. I like both. Neatly trimmed beard.
As long as its neat and he washes it with conditioner to cut out the coarseness that is scratchy.
However I don’t like the very long beards..looks like a throwback to the 1960’s Hippie era.
When growing out a beard for the first time men might want to use a conditioner after washing there beard which softens it and feels better to the partner in there life.
@KNOWITALL Mine is much like the one on the right on the homepage of your link. I would like it to be the one on the left.
I like men with trimmed beards. It’s very attractive. However, my last boyfriend was clean shaven and so is the man I’m chatting with now.
The one on the left of @knowitall’s link is a turn off to me. Too much beard.
@Coolhandluke Just being honest, the ladies usually prefer them a little shorter in my experience.
They tend to add age, too, so just make sure your face can handle that much beard, as well as the color. Or ask your galpal’s if it works…hard to tell without a pic, although you could put one up for us if you’d like our opinions….haha!
@KNOWITALL -The worst ever are the meat chop/porkchop sideburns ala MVB:
especially on a woman XD
@lucillelucillelucille We have a crazy friend that had chops for awhile, he pulled them off because he’s very manly…haha! But barely, if I’m being honest.
@KNOWITALL _Pulled as in yanked them off his face?? XD
@lucillelucillelucille Ouch! He ‘really pulls off that loud jacket” -kind of pull off….haha!
A manual pull off because he’s manly would be quite hard to watch, I’d imagine!
@KNOWITALL -I envisioned a manly man that doesn’t bother with shaving and just rips it off his face!! OMG lololol
@lucillelucillelucille If you saw him, he could probably manage, he’s a huge crazy man. He ate his own vomit on a dare at a party when we were teens. And frenched his pitty. Crazy I tell ya but very attractive if you don’t know him…haha!
It’s up to him. I wouldn’t appreciate him trying to change my appearance to suit him, so I wouldn’t do that to him.
With a well groomed beard. I can get into a long beard on the right guy, though. I tend to prefer crisp grooming in general, short hair, tidy facial hair, etc.
I don’t prefer them but there are some with short beards or facial hair which look good.
I don’t prefer long full beards like Kenny Rogers had or mountain men types have.
In my observation, sometimes moustaches are there to cover up orthodontic issues (such as an overbite).
