50? Living long enough to make it to retirement.
The company I worked for had a policy where surviving spouses did not receive retirement benefits.

When I turned 50, my next goal was making it to 60. I succeeded.

I have a few to go before the big 6–0.

Probably seeing that my kids were launched and independent but i don’t really connect my goals with particular ages.

I was surprised, because I used to think 50 was “really old” but it didn’t feel old.
Now, at 77, I’m beginning to feel it.

50 – To have fun. Also, I was hoping not to die before 51. 50 I felt like my risk of dying went up exponentially. Probably, that is true. I’m 52 now.

40 – temporarily was to try for a baby, but then I gave up after another nightmare with idiot techs at doctors offices. At 40 mostly I just gave up on a lot of things and tried to make my life easier.

30 – try to get rid of my chronic pain. Hopefully have a baby. Work in a less exhausting job.

50 didn’t bring on any specific goal but I’d say my general goal in early 50’s is retirement.

That’s about when I decided I’d better let go of the impossible, never-gonna-happen goals and focus on the ones that were actually attainable, like paying off the mortgage. Kind of a hard lump to swallow, that letting go, but it did have an upside in realism. And the mortgage did get paid off.

@Jeruba we have had our mortgage paid off for a few years now,the vehicles are paid for and no credit card debt,I am to a point if I can’t buy it out right I will either skip it or save for it.
SORRY I guess that is my goal to stay out of debt for the rest of my life.

I’ll be 70 next January. Throughout my life the most important thing to me was maintaining physical fitness and good health. Eat right, get good rest, exercise regularly and vigorously, no tobacco, booze or any other recreational drugs.

I’ve always been and still am very healthy and strong for my age class and will continue living my healthy lifestyle as long as possible.

Good health!

30 marriage, house, 410k, stability. As well as the next party.

40 Better health, less partying, stacking paper for old age, trying to keep contact with my busy friends, proving myself at my career. Keeping my mom alive and my husband stable.

Same as it ever was, no matter my age or situation and that is to be happy-or find a way.
My husband says “snacks”. XD
