What is design science?

Asked by LostInParadise (32215points) May 4th, 2020

I have heard some hype about it, but the articles I have found on the Web don’t say very much. Some say that it puts emphasis on the human interface and others talk about an iterative process. These things are not unique to data science.

I can think of two distinct ways to apply that term:

Computer-modeled architecture. E.g. Ghery’s buildings – with the wavy titanium surfaces – would be impossible to make without sophisticated software and high-precision manhufacturing of thousands of distinct parts.

Using metrics to assess the success of design decisions.
