Will I be able to get my overall GPA to at LEAST a 3.3 or higher?

Asked by Shaylee12234 (20points) May 6th, 2020

So, I finished my Junior year with an annual GPA of a 3.2 and I’d love to know if I managed to get it up? The first semester of my senior year I finished with a 4.0 and the first quarter of the second semester I have a 4.1… I am currently dealing with all A’s and one B for my current quarter. So, will I graduate with AT LEAST a 3.3 GPA or perhaps an even higher one? Thanks a ton!

Not enough info. How many classes are you taking? what is the weighting for an A, B, C etc. obviously it’s possible to exceed 4.0. That would impact the overall percentage. If you got straight A’s would that be 4.5? or something different (perhaps honors classes go higher, but not all of your classes are honors)?

Sorry about that! Here is some extra information: I am currently taking 10 unweighted classes, my school bases everything off of a 4.0 scale, and I am not taking any AP/Honors classes. Let me know if I need to mention anything else! :) @gorillapaws

There is still a lot missing.. Is your final average based upon only junior and senior years or is sophomore year included. Was the course load the same for all years?
I will make some assumptions and say all years were weighted the same and sophomore year counts.
In that case you have a 3.2 for junior year, and a 3.2 for sophomore year.. If you finish senor year with a 4.0 your final average will be 3.47.
So , the answer is “Yes”.
It can be much higher if only junior and senior years count and extra credit is possible.

It certainly looks like you should have no problem getting a 3.3 GPA. Here is how you can calculate what you would need to achieve a 3.3. I am assuming that the 3.2 was for sophomore and junior years and that all years count equally. Let x be the average for your senior year. To achieve 3.3, we must have (2×3.2 + x)/3 = 3.3. x = 3.5. You are on your way to doing much better than a 3.5 for your senior year, so a 3.3 should not be a problem.
