When the cv-19 crisis is past, what food overstocks will you just want to get rid of?

Asked by Jeruba (56034points) May 8th, 2020

On my first panic-shopping day, in mid-March, I grabbed a bunch of groceries that I would probably never use, just in case. Things like evaporated milk and instant mashed potatoes and honey (yes, honey) and canned ravioli. They were meant to substitute for things I would normally buy but couldn’t get.

Now I’m picturing donating them all to a food bank or shelter as soon as things settle down.

What will the donation bins be overflowing with? What will you be putting in?

I don’t have an overstock of anything but I am sure any foodbank/soup kitchen would take your extra.

We didn’t over stock on anything we wouldn’t normally use.

I would wait to get rid of anything edible right now.
