No, he is not right. And asking questions like this, even supposedly critical of Limbaugh, just gives him more air time

Any time someone asks “is Limbaugh right?” the answer is probably No.

The country is divided on which is causing more damage, the virus or the economic collapse. Not surprisingly the divide is along political lines. Democrats are pushing the virus story and Republicans are pushing the economic. Everybody wants to see the country recover but in a fashion that benefits there political ideology. We’re all going to have to decide if we want our lives back or are we willing to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune while we wait for the socialist dream.
I’ll go with Rush, he’s usually right.

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy, but if it happened to coincide to hurt his chances at re-election, they’d be tickled pink. Frankly I can’t think of anything most of you here want more, so it’s not that far-fetched that’s it’s a ‘hope’.

Well nice to see the Rep/cons are still putting money and the economy ahead of human lives, no surprise there, ok fling the doors open at what cost?

And they have the nerve to call the liberals haters.
The economy can open slowly cautiously, but that is not good enough just fling the doors open and pick up the bodies later,heck as long as those mega corporations are cranking out profits who the hell cares who dies or gets sick on the working front.

It’s amusing to me that this, like every single thing that happens in this country, is divided cleanly along party lines as usual. It’s just a game to the people in power. Democrats want the economy to tank so Trump won’t be re-elected; Republicans want the economy to open no matter the human cost so Trump will be re-elected. There’s a political behind everything, even death from a virus.

If there’s one thing this country has perfected, it’s political division.

What if the “red” states opened up and lost large numbers of voters to the Cov? That would be validation.

@YARNLADY I think that’s basically what’s happening anyway. It just so happens that many red states, like mine, we’re rural with a few big cities getting the brunt of the virus, so the spread is fairly low numbers.

488 deaths total in Missouri due to COVID. 7 deaths in my (more rural) county.

There is no way this will last much longer in my area, everyone’s rebelling with only the threat of the legal repercussions stopping some of them. Hair salons and other service establishments opened back up this week with masks and social distancing rules.

Personally, I’m still at home, and will remain unless my job requires me to get out since my mom has compromised immunity.

I think the Republicans think they can blame a spike in deaths after “Opening Up” the economy on something else, they’ll blame it on liberal doctors falsifying death certificates.

This is much less likely than drumpf conspiring to release the virus, so he can steal the next election by having a large number of people at home, unable to go to vote.

@mazingerz88 I think @Demosthenes is merely positing the 2 extremes of the arguments. And the Limbaugh position is by necessity ALWAYS the extreme on any subject.
