Do you have the freedom to sleep when you are tired, and eat when you are hungry?
Or is it a luxury for you? Is it on your bucket list?

Yes I do and I cherish both.
Yes, and with the lockdown the decadence involved with the suspensions of all required discipline is markedly apparent. The wife takes herself for vigorous walks daily, but I get virtually no physical exercise for days on end beyond climbing and descending the stairs.
I have the luxury/entitlement of eating what and when I desire. But as a wage slave, my hours are dictated by my employer, so I am at the computer from 5:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
@stanley Hmm..sounds like a missed opportunity to join your wife, Stan.
Yes. Unless I’m tired at work or in class in which case I can’t simply go to sleep then.
@KNOWITALL Join her? I don’t think I’ve ever had so much concentrated time with her in my life. Frankly, I am very pleasantly surprised we have so little friction. Don’t get me wrong. She nags me constantly about not moving around to her satisfaction. Before it was about never sitting down and not coming to bed or remaining there long enough. She’s such a fussbudget, and she knows it. I’m laughing my ass off, because the kids have all the neighbors spying on the house for reports of me leaving it. Turns out the kids are all over her for those daily walks. I’m the martyr and the hero!! I tell
em “I try to keep her at home, but she insists on exercise. You and I know that she just takes these walks because she’s nosy and wants to meddle elsewhere and nag strangers. She says she wants me to accompany her because I need the exercise. I know that it’s just to keep an eye on me and insure that I’m under her thumb.” “Why don’t I ask her to forego the walks? You both know I’m afraid of her”.
Honestly, I know that my wife fusses over me because she loves me. She fusses over everything she cares about & I experience the proof that she cares about me a great deal.
^ You are blessed!!! :)
@RedDeerGuy1 Since I retired, YES I have the freedom to eat when I want & sleep when I feel the need!!! Before being quarantined, I was volunteering my services with several different groups that could have possibly hindered that freedom so I CHOSE to not get hungry or sleepy while volunteering!!! I worked MY schedule around THEIR schedule & it was working very well. Since being in self isolation I tend to fall asleep at strange times when it’s NOT my idea. Good thing that I have the freedoms that I have!!! ;}
Yes, I enjoy that luxury and freedom every day, with the exception that my sleep is often varied due to the needs of other people.
Never in my whole life did I to go hungry.
I can’t.
I am pinned to medications which infringe on my choices at times.
Right now, I’m “working from home” so I can take a nap if I want to. Normally, I’m at work 40 hours a week with an almost two hour daily commute, so I can’t take a nap. Food, I always have access to, now and prior to this Covid crisis.
Thankfully I am fully able to do this.
@stanleybmanly That’s sweet!! I was thinking maybe set up a little bistro table in the garage for after the walk, with snacks or a light lunch, small bottle of champagne or even a little catered lunch of her favorite. Sounds like a great relationship, congrats.
Your view reflects the “grass is greener” aspects of my situation. It does crack me up, but our routine boils down to a never ending recitation of my many faults. She seems to live in horror at the thought that I scheme to die ahead of her. If my shoe is untied “are your feet swelling? Come here this instant. Let me see!!” My feet don’t swell, never have. Honest to God, you would think I’m hovering near death. She just left to buy sewing stuff. Gotta raid the ice cream now.
