Sandwich place in San Francisco?
Where can I get a really good sandwich in San Francisco- like from a deli- I’m thinking “turkey on rye” and some cole-slaw- and I have no idea where I’d go. Any good Italian or Jewish delis?

As much as I have dined in the SFO area (including Burlingame), it’s my opinion that there are NO “bad’ places to eat in the entire bay area.
Of course, I have not eatern everywhere…

a bit off topic, but I heard this comedian doing an impression of Johnny Cash sing: “I keep my fly wide open all the time.
I might have drank a little too much wine,
she should have told me she was only nine!
Because she’s nine, I’m doin’ time!
Aw, crap! I don’t have Flash installed at work (need admin permissions). I’ll check that video when I get home!
If you want to drive a bit, go to Redwood City to the Woodside Deli.
Ike’s Place is fantastic. They have a huge selection of sandwiches, many of them quite original. Its on 16th and Sanchez, but I suggest calling ahead for takeout or to reserve a table. They can get pretty busy. You will not be disappointed.
saul’s in berkeley isn’t bad for this sorta’ thing (you can bike there from north berkeley bart), molinari’s in north beach for italian deli, and for sandwiches in general i’d say the atlas cafe in the mission is amazing.
There is a great Italian deli in the Excelsior district on Mission Street (between Ocean and Onondaga) called Sorrento. Their sandos are big and tasty. Check em out.
I think there’s a Jewish deli on Polk just below California..
