Baseball fans: What are your thoughts about the 60-game "season?"?

Asked by Love_my_doggie (13069points) June 30th, 2020

On the one hand, I’m a lifelong baseball fan and happy that we’ll see some games.

On the other hand, the situation’s weird and awkward—no fans in the ballparks, players and umpires wearing masks, no leagues, and an automatic runner on 2nd for extra innings.

What are your thoughts?

Better than nothing, but it will be strange. Will go into the history books with an asterisk (like the strike season 1994)

I am looking forward to it, with the intention of viewing it as a very long pre-season for next year.

I ma more concerned with some of the rule changes (like National League DH) and hope they do not become permanent.

I worry that they are putting people unnecessarily at risk.

At this point I say just call the 2020 season off. Admittedly, however, I’m not quite so interested in baseball as I use to be.

@Darth_Algar I agree, but I absolutely love baseball. It’s by far my favorite sport. So for me to agree with you breaks my heart. But it’s the right thing to do.
