When's the last time you climbed a tree?
What on earth were you doing up there… or are you still up there?

1969 or so. Because it was there.
Edmund? Is that you? Oops! I mean George.
It’s been a while, too long.
I think it was a couple of years ago when my football got stuck on a branch.
How the hell we were descended from apes I don’t know, we climb trees like old people have sex :D
@ucme – Ha ha! It has been a few years since I’ve been in a tree but I do swing from them from time to time.
@lucillelucillelucille I pictured you swinging from a moderately low branch, it snapped & you fell in an alarming heap!
Is it wrong that I found that hilarious?
@ucme -Not at all!
I have yet to fall while doing that but have had a few close calls before.
One must be careful not to swing too far as you’ll be looking at the sky.
@lucillelucillelucille Speaking of swinging…no, not that way! :D
Did you ever stand on the swings at the park & get yourself high? I mean high enough to get a nose bleed…I did LOL
@ucme A nose bleed?? LOL! No, I was always afraid of going completely around.
Valid fear, right there.Up there with sharks in the toilet.
@ucme -They were just flirting.
About 5 or 6 years ago. Picking apples (pippins) from the tree in my backyard. Fresh applesauce, yum.
I was a real tree climber as a kid, and I helped my sons up onto tree branches before they could walk so they wouldn’t be afraid. That’s one lesson that actually worked.
When I was about 12, I asked my mother plaintively, “Do I have to stop climbing trees?” I was aware by then that it wasn’t considered ladylike behavior and that I was supposed to be acting more grown up. She said, “Honey, you can climb trees until you’re a hundred if you want to.”
That might help to explain why I am the way I am.
Thanks! I thought I’d gone to the top of the world I was up so high! Still not as high as the Joyland high dive.
Grandkid in a tree
Think it was 15 years ago picking apples with grand-kids in New York state near Rhinebeck.
Quite recently actually. My family and I go on walks in Witch Wood with our dog sometimes. Witch Wood is just a small woods where a proclaimed witch was buried. Although most trees there are just straight up with no low branches, you come across the occasional one which you can climb. Keep in mind, I’m 14 here, not an adult lol.
Last year…hanging Christmas lights in it.
I’m sure the tree is dead by now. Nah, it was over 30 years ago in the botanical garden in NYC. I remember because I have a picture of it. I had taken it to send to my husband who was deployed at the time.
