Can you go into more detail as "leader as servant"? (P&R)

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24946points) July 11th, 2020

My university motto was. “DUCERE ET SERVIRE”. Is it a good philosophy to live by? Or is it loser think? Can you recommend a good book to buy on the subject?

ducere discere et servire

Learn to lead and to serve

Don’t learn to lead and don’t serve?

I interpret the passage to mean that a leader should serve the interests of those who he is leading.

An opposite motto might be, “Take advantage of everyone you can”.
