Tough call. It’s shifted through the years. It was once a tossup between Eddie”clean head” Vinson’s “Just a Dream” and his “Back Door Blues”. I prefer the renditions with Cannonball Adderly’s group backing him up. Nowadays it’s probably the fantastic Glasgow 95 festival rendition of “5 Long Years” by Clapton. The guitar work is un believable. Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Texas Flood is another biggie for me.
It’s hard to pick a favorite but this is up there
Here is another version I love.
John Lee Hooker’s Tupelo is right up there. It’s haunting, and close to perfection in it’s simplicity.
Stormy Monday
My dad sang in a local band when I was a kid and that his signature song.
You all gave me a great playlist. Thank you!
