Has the pandemic turned up in your dreams yet?

Asked by Jeruba (56034points) July 18th, 2020

Have you been dreaming about covid-19? or other sickness that might represent it?

Have you seen dream people wearing masks?

Have you had anxiety dreams that you attribute to coronavirus?

I’m wondering if there’s a shadow epidemic in dreamland and how it might color our waking thoughts.

I recently had a dream that I had a fever and a sore throat. It felt very real and I was relieved to wake up with no symptoms. Looks like the anxiety of it has finally entered my dreams.

Negative. But I have wild dreams already. Movie quality dreams with crazy plots and explosions. WW3 shit..

I found that if I take a few Ativan for a few nights in a row and then stop my dreams get bonkers. And I do love my crazy-pants dreams. Even if I wake up in the middle of the night covered in sweat.

Yes!!! I thought I was the only one!
I dreamt it was over and we were discussing who were jerks and who were nice and considerate.

Oh, yes. I have a recurring nightmare that I am stuck in lockdown with my mother and two sisters (the family that I estranged myself from 5 years ago.) I can usually force myself out of sleep, then I stay up for awhile to bring my heart rate down.

Not yet. I have a backlog of other flavors of anxiety dreams all queued up. COVID-19 related dreams need to get at the back of the subconscious line.

No.

The closest I get is disrupted sleep sometimes, and when I wake I realize things are still abnormal. It’s a mild anxiety feeling. I usually just watch some TV. Even before covid I sometimes had disrupted sleep, but I didn’t really have my thoughts on any sort of overdrive.

Not directly. No dreams of disease or people in masks that I remember. But the popular anxiety and related themes about the times, yes.
