Why do we only use the 3R's to deal with trash?
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Why did Recover disappear? The 4th R.

How is Recover different from Reuse?
@filmfann Recover is going into the trash in garbage dumps and give them a better home and new uses. Like flooring in walkways, from tires, and necklaces from plastics.
Three R’s?
My thing I roll to the curb looks more like R2D2 from Star Wars.
Reduce and Recycle are the two R’s—Dump and Deliver are the two D’s. (In my town, trash is delivered, not picked up or maybe the D’s are for Deliver to Dump,).
@RedDeerGuy1 At our landfill, no one is allowed to sort through and recover any disposed of anything. There is too much refuse to get buried, and too much heavy equipment running around. So “Recover“y is not practical. Too time consuming, too dangerous.
I see lots of houses with good usable stuff out by the curb to be hauled away as trash/refuse. Usually by rich people who might think it is beneath them to allow recovery by people of lesser means. Education in this area might help.
