I just learned that Milo, Gailcalled’s cat, died in June. He was nearly 20 and a beloved Fluther presence.

That is a sad one, but did live a nice long life.
This is very sad. I was remembering @gailcalled today. May both she and Milo rest in peace.
A very loved kitten. @Jeruba, thanks for adding the picture.
Oh, Milo! He and my pup had many a meaningful chat.
It’s sad that we found out too late… I hope he is in a better place now.
I’ll never forget the time Milo corrected my cat’s grammar. ;-p
Milo, thank you for all your inputs here on Fluther!
The only yamaka wearing cat I’ve ever seen. He had a lot of style.
Hopefully wherever he is, he gets to take long walks in the woods.
@Patty_Melt I believe it’s actually a beret. He was an artiste!
He was Jewish. Big difference between yamaka and beret. Only one is worn for Chanukah.
Sorry Pats, with two brothers who are Jewish scholars, I know a beret from a yarmulkah and when you’re supposed to wear them.
But let’s not quibble over the dead.
@janbb is like – - “speaking ill of the dead” – - ?
The cat was Jewish? Come on.
Oh, sure he was, @Jeruba, he told my dog all about his bar-meow-tzvah!
But, but, but – I thought he told me he went to cat-echism class!
@janbb As a cate-kitten, sure. Then he converted.
Didn’t @Jeruba design Milo’s chapeau?
Because I want an apology, I went through weeks of @gailcalled’s responses until I found I need that linked to some of her photographs.
I posted a response to that question, so if a very old question comes up in your -p about pets, click on that. Among the many photos, there is one of Milo wearing a blue yamaka. You have to go way past the beret, and two or three blank spots spaces out to get to it.
I think it is really rude to treat me as if I’m nuts on this.
If the question does not pop up for you, you can go to my profile page, find greatest answers, click see all, and click the question where I answer never. It will be one of the first five on the list, so it isn’t a long search.
Thanks for being so snarky.
Milo was so much more than a single snapshot.
I’m sorry your feelings were hurt. This was meant to be a semi-lighthearted thread. Let’s move on past the beret/yarmukah imbroglio please.
Farewell Milo. Safe travels. Give Gail a hug for us.

Milo was a magnificently TAILented Jewish artiste, and a cat of many hats! ;-D
@Brian1946, I think Gail made that image herself. If I recall correctly, the beret was there already when she replaced her longtime avatar of a vase of roses with the picture of Milo. My graphic contributions to Fluther (aside from some A variants for Auggie and the many modifications of my Cate Blanchett photo) were mostly to slide a cutout of Dr. J onto someone’s existing avatar.
@canidmajor, I thought there was only one deity that cats might condescend to worship.
@Patty_Melt, were you thinking of @rooeytoo?
@Jeruba Ha! Good point. Then maybe Milo was congratulating my pup on his bark-mitzvah! (Somebody, stop me!) :-D
@canidmajor, if you are going to doggedly pursue this line of discourse, it could be catastrophic.
I used to watch Rooeytoons when I was a kid. ;-p
Now that I’m super bitchinly mature, I only watch the works of Frederico FELINEy. ;-)

@JLeslie That would be nice. Milo did at least have a great life, with Gail and then with her daughter.
I remember Gail talking about her great piece of property and how Milo loved the yard.
So sorry. Hope he and Gail had a lovely reunion at Rainbow Bridge! What a lovely long life he had.
@jca2 If you go through the rest of the photos on the link you see her house and property. It was really lovely.
I’ve seen them before (elsewhere) but I’ll look again. I remember a brook and a bench, if I remember correctly.
Oh dear. Poor sweet Milo : ( He shall be missed <3
Oh, so sorry to hear he passed. Twenty is one heck of a run. Maybe Milo can play with my pup now.
Bunch of Milo pix and other Gail photos here. From her own link at the bottom of this thread.
Was never a cat so doted on as Milo. Gail was perfectly giddy about him.
Thanks for the peeks inside Gail and Milos lives @Jeruba. It was nice to see them in their home.
Oh no. Milo. I named one of my cats after him.

I was feeling nostalgic and missing Gail so I popped back in to Fluther to read all the lovely tributes and memories of her, and came across this sad news. At least they are together now. Vale Milo
Wow, @shrubbery, it’s been such a long time! How nice to see you here, even if it’s on a memorial thread.
