Can you tell me more about becoming a specialist journalist or going into broadcasting ?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) August 10th, 2020

Like science and technology and/or health journalism for television, print, radio or online mediums.

It is my flavor or the week. Just considering without committing to anything.

Both of those positions require commitment.
I did broadcast in college, one of my classmates did specialist journalist for the state public TV for 30 years after graduation !

Journalism requires some education. And specialty journalism requires even more. You have to work on it.

Have you ever considered working with a career counselor? They might be able to help you based on your knowledge, interests and experience. Otherwise it looks like you are going to spend the rest of your life with flavors of the week.

@LostInParadise I have been seeing career counselors since I was 18. Other than being entertaining they are not very helpful.

At the very least, they should be able to tell you what the requirements are to work in any given profession that you might be interested in.
