What do you think about the Pentagon's task force to investigate UFOs?

Asked by Aster (20028points) August 15th, 2020

They’re concerned about the motives of the UFOs being seen in our air space.

A source would be helpful. What type of unidentified flying objects are the concerned about?

Isn’t that what Trump’s Space Force is all about?

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/511972-pentagon-forming-task-force-to-investigate-military-ufo-sightings When I hear “UFO” I usually think of what used to be called, “flying saucers” but I guess it could mean anything. Any suggestions? lol

@SQUEEKY2 The Space Force is designed to help protect the interests of the United States in space, deter aggression in the final frontier and conduct prompt and sustained space operations.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

It simply means that something is flying but what it is is unidentified.

Aster's avatar

@Dutchess_lll exactly. Pilots see ‘something” flying, and they don’t know what it is. Looks like we may find out.

They’ve been investigating UFOs since the 40s. Hear of Area 51?

Aster's avatar

^^^^^^^^ Area 51? I have a couple books on it and have visited the UFO museum in Roswell.
I first learned of UFOs in 1949 while snooping in my mother’s books. It has taken this long, amazingly, to get serious about them.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

What is there to take seriously? UFOs from other planets don’t exist.
Threats from other countries via the air do and they’ve always taken that seriously

The “space force” is about militarising space, and create a threat to non-colonial satellites, giving the colonies more avenues for extortion and blackmail in their international “negotiations”.
Remember how the colonies threw a fit over the EU building their own Satellite Navigation System to be independent of GPS?

Well if it takes money away from the killing civilians with drones because they look foreign fund then I’m all for it.

Source: CNN
Former official on UFOs: We might not be alone.
Elizondo told The New York Times he resigned from the Department of Defense in October in protest over what he called excessive secrecy surrounding the program and internal opposition to it.
Elizondo said Monday that he could not speak on behalf of the government, but he strongly implied there was evidence that stopped him from ruling out the possibility that alien aircraft visited Earth.
“These aircraft—we’ll call them aircraft—are displaying characteristics that are not currently within the US inventory nor in any foreign inventory that we are aware of,” Elizondo said of objects they researched.

Thanks so much but untrue; I have never seen that page. Would u like to see the page I used? Oh, I get it. You didn’t like the “CNN” part. lol You think I put that on dishonesty. Nope; that’s not me.

Here’s my link: https://www.cnn.com/2017/12/18/politics/luis-elizondo-ufo-pentagon/index.html . It could actually happen that even a Liberal news show could have some employees that believe that we’re not alone in the universe. Which is a ridiculous theory.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

No @Aster. I accept CNN as a valid source. The link I posted for you to was to CNN. It was simply a different story from the CNN link you posted. What are you so upset about?

Aster's avatar

I was annoyed that you found it necessary to post “Aster’s Source”
possibly making me look like a liar. Which I am not.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

That was not my purpose. From now on actually post links to your sources instead of leaving people to go trying to find it for them selves then yelling at them when they get it wrong.
