If you saw the musical "Hamilton", how did you like it?

I saw it yesterday (on a screen), and was impressed. I was happy to discover that you don’t have to be a fan of rap music to appreciate the tunes and the (genius) lyrics.

I joined Disney+ just so I could watch it, & I hit the stop button after maybe 20 minutes & found something better to occupy my time. I was excited to hit the Play button & it went steadily down hill from there.
@LadyMarissa I was really building anticipation since my friend saw it in Cuba, trying to get my husband excited about watching on Disney. I don’t think we even lasted 20 minutes, but I thought I just wasn’t in the mood. Did you try again?
I saw it on stage in San Francisco from a traveling production. I thought it was great, good tunes, good characterization, snappy dialogue, and excellent staging, as there was a lot going on all the time.
I have not seen the Disney+ production yet, but friends that have said they really enjoyed it.
I saw it in Seattle.
Hated it.
There was no music. It just sounded like people debating each other with drums and someone pounding on a keyboard.
Left at the intermission.
I saw a song or two from it at a friend’s house. Their daughter loves it and knows every word. I found it hard to understand and I didn’t care for it.
A relative (who produces shows in a big American city known for gambling) and my sister saw it here in NYC on Broadway and they both hated it.
A daughter and granddaughter love it, and have played many of the songs for me. I found them toe-tapping, and all that, but I don’t go out of my way to listen nor have I tried to watch it.
I didn’t get to see it on Broadway where many friends were crazy about it. I had heard the soundtrack a few times and turned on the captions when I watched it streaming. I think it’ very clever and probably would be very exciting to see in a theater but I found it a little too long winded and repetitious in places to really enjoy it at home. The second act is particularly drawn out. Again though, I do admire its range and imagination and I do find myself singing some of the songs (particularly “I have to pee, I have to pee” set to the tune of “It must be nice, It must be nice.”)
Friends who saw it on Broadway seemed to really get a lot out of seeing it streaming; they enjoyed seeing the close ups of the actors’ faces.
@KNOWITALL No, I haven’t tried it again…IF I do & my perception changes, I’ll be back to let you know!!!
@LadyMarissa I have a 3 day weekend and we got Disney back, I’m trying again this weekend for sure.
If anybody is looking for a good Disney musical (stage), see “Disney’s Newsies on Broadway.”
