Anyone else get robocalls saying there has been suspicious activity on your SS number and to call them back or you'll be arrested?

Super annoying, twice today already. monotone voice mentions suspicious activity and orders me to call them back (to verify my social security number of course) or a warrant will be issued for my arrest with no charges? Anyone else?

Yup. I got one a few days ago. I just ignored it. It came from Richmond CA. 510–255-8926
Got one of them today. Woman’s voice. From a local Atlanta number, probably faked. I put the receiver down and let her babble on and on.
Yes. I put my phone next to the radio, usually NPR, to tie up their line for 60 seconds.
I don’t answer numbers that I don’t recognize;so, if I received one, I didn’t answer it. I have seen on the news that this is one of the latest scams going around. If you want to make sure, call your local SS office and they can verify that there is nothing wrong with your account. Plus they will advise you that it is a scam and to not give out any personal info
Yes, it’s happened here several times. It’s a scam!! Report it to your local police!
Get NOMOROBO from your phone company and block them.
Yes. But it was person.
They told me that they needed my social security number, or I’d be going to jail.
I didn’t give it to them.
I called the number back, and it was a answering service, for flower delivery.
Nice try….
Some here have. Also Paypal and Netflix renew scams.
I’ve gotten scam calls from IRS, SS, Netflix. My favorite scams are the threat of cutting off my electric or gas and they do it several months in a row. You would think they would realize by now that I’m not buying it because I pay it every month. Or when they claim they are from Amazon or some random visa card. What they don’t know is I only carry one card and it’s with my bank and they will personally call me with a live person on any suspicious activity and will block it until I confirm I made the purchase. Yeah, my husband got a scam email for Netflix saying our credit card no longer works and they can’t make the monthly withdrawal, only I pay a year in advance. Also it’s not due till Feb. next year. I never do monthly payments, because then you run into problems when you have to change your card for some reason.
But they certainly are annoying. I just let the answering machine pick it up. I have it set to pick up after 2 rings and I have the phone in my bedroom practically on silent. I only use the house phone for people I don’t know, or for doctor appointments or services.
Fifty years ago,I got a phone ! It was a guy trying to sell me Vinyl Siding I strung him along for a while and . .. . .
THEN . . . ! said, “Sounds great my wife and I are both college students and our house is brick ! ! ” (We lived in an apartment !)
The next sound was a click on the other end ! ! ! ! !
The scammers have gotten so brave that they are spoofing phone numbers of Sheriffs’ home phone numbers and nothing happens to them. Most are from outside the US so we can’t prosecute them.
It is a scam! I got that call and started freaking out. They told me I was being indicted on federal drug traffiking charges I called my old man who is my payee and he told me to social security. Best thing to do if u received this call is to file a report with the Inspector General office.
