I set my Kobo to factory reset and now it doesn't log on to the internet, did I break it?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24987points) August 25th, 2020

I went to the website and it logged on from my desktop computer with all the free books that I downloaded.

My best guess is that it isn’t supported any more.

I paid $50 four years ago during an Amazon special sale. Should I toss it in the trash? The library doesn’t want it. I never paid for any books and the pages turned to slow.

My Kobo e-reader is 2014.

You probably didn’t break it. Do you remember the steps you took to connect it to your internet the very first time you got it? You should do those steps again.

Do a Google search for “setting up a Kobo 2014.”

@Hawaii_Jake I don’t remember. I will do the search.

This might give you a place to start. I’m not familiar with the Kobo so I didn’t read it all,but it might get you started in the right direction

@SEKA Ok resetting my wi-fi. I will see if it works.

@all Update I got a step closer. The wi-fi logs in and then it says network error. It only gets that far when I place my Kobo on my router. I am at a loss. I even tried blowing the dust out and smacking it.

My guess is that my Kobo is no longer supported.

Have you tried going to their website??? In the upper right corner is a HELP tab where you may do some more detailed research. This is a list of products they no longer support. Most are listed by model number & not the year. Lower right corner is a chat button, so you might find someone who can directly answer your specific Q!!!
