Is it weird to point with your pinkie?

My friend noticed I was looking at Germany on Google Maps. I was then talking to her about German city names. She brought up a specific city name and was curious about if it actually existed. Luckily, that city was part of the region of Germany that I was looking at. I pointed at it with my pinkie, and thought to myself “Why am I pointing with my pinkie?”

It’s not weird, just different. It would be rude to point with your middle finger, and it would be very weird to point with your ring finger.
Also, did you have anything else in your hand at the time?
Pointing out a tiny dot on a map makes more sense with the pinkie finger because it is smaller and unlikely to cover the dot on the map. I don’t see it as weird, just different
Yes, very well done. In a similar vein:
Pointing your feet at someone is considered very rude in Thailand and should be avoided at all costs. The feet are considered as the lowest and dirtiest part of the body and the bottoms should never be pointed at anyone, especially at Buddhas.
Different, perhaps amusing.
I would call it, unusual.
Not so strange, and as far as I’m concerned if you communicated what you wanted to communicate then mission accomplished.
I think it’s normal to point with your pinkie in German culture. Perhaps you were just channeling the map. :P
