Do referees get ticked off when after a play that the player doesn't hand over the ball/puck?
Is it good sportsmanship to hand the puck/ball to the referee? Instead of making them fetch?
Humor welcome.

I would think it would irk some. It would be good sportsmanship and good manners to hand the ball over without making them chase after it.
It called ‘delay of game’ in football (US), basketball and hockey . . . . .
All can get a penalty !
It’s also not very practical to annoy the referees…
