Have you grown soft?

I find myself re-examining some of the beliefs I held in my high school and early college days. Back then I think I was desperate to define the world as I saw it, and just about everything was a matter of black and white, and I was proud to stand in the light.

As I’ve become older, I notice that I cut people more slack. The world is complex, and most people are genuinely trying to be decent.

In particular, I’ve become a lot softer on religion. I don’t have one of my own, but I see the value in them that I once couldn’t.

Have you eased up on something you were once hardline about? Perhaps the opposite? Why?
