Probably not, so why do people choose to believe their politicians over the scientists and experts on Covid19?

Some people do. The ones who do are telling you how lost they are.

Actually I went to my dentist and he put me in touch with a good architect for something I was building, so the answer for me could easily be yes
I’ve worked in several dental offices in a couple of positions. Currently, I’m a banker. So yes, you would get decent dental advice from me.
To answer your real question, there are people who want to hear only the things they already believe. If a politician says to them what they want to hear, scientifically sound or not, they will believe it wholeheartedly. The same idea applies to religious leaders and their flocks.
As was pointed out in Forrest Gump “Stupid is as stupid does.”
No, but I have been known to go to a dentist for banking advice, so go figure.
IF it were advice about the cost of dental work, certainly. These kinds of questions build the answer right in and it takes logic training to spot it. But you have been spotted ;)
