I don’t usually get offended easily, but this marketing tactic towards a product that kids mostly eat, is super creepy in my opinion.
What do you think?

One of the stupidest, reckless commercials I’ve ever seen.
It looks like a barely funny parody ad, something that “College Humour” would do.
Except milquetoast with zero edge.
Is it offensive? Only to my comedy standards.
I have no opinion on it one way or the other. Is it offensive? No. Is it funny, witty or clever? No. Will it make a difference in whether or not I buy the product? No.
Kraft mac and cheese is shitty.
This commercial is dumb. They are trying to be funny but aren’t.
How many kids that this is marketed towards will get the “joke”?
My opinion is Vanessa Bayer is adorable.
Call me, Vanessa!
This was trying way too hard. Cringe.
Are you sure this is a commercial? I was struck immediately that the woman is a major member of the SNL troupe. The whole piece looks to me like a sketch parody of a commercial typical of Saturday Night Live.
Horrible and stupid. I didn’t even get it at first. I like the decor in the house though.
Looks to be a real commercial. As a parent I’d be pissed as hell. If I had the money I’d sue their asses into bankruptcy.
@Dutchess_III
It’s a $60 billion company. If you had that kind of money I doubt you’d care.
@Dutchess_III: “As a parent I’d be pissed as hell. If I had the money I’d sue their asses into bankruptcy.”
Why? What am I missing?
@hmmmmm
Pearl-clutching “won’t someone think of the children” outrage.
^ Strange. So, a commercial (something kids don’t watch) targeted towards older adults (SNL viewers) that contains non-funny old-timey humor for a much older audience is supposed to be “controversial” or something because….christ, I really can’t even make up something to be upset about – other than the fact that Kraft exists and the commercial is really unfunny.
Actually, this commercial is so funny that most people forget to laugh, and have no inkling of an idea that what they just saw was laughable. Maybe in the middle of the night I’ll catch on and wake up laughing my dick off.
I don’t think any young kids will pick up on the joke
I think it’s a pointless single pun joke repeated way too often.
I don’t see how anyone would think that’s going to sell Kraft’s crappy industrial noodles, except by the no-redeeming-value strategy/theory of “any name recognition results in more sales”.
Mainly it inspired thoughts like “does anyone really call that product “noods” – if so, I think I hate those people”, and “who thought this was worth producing and broadcasting?”
As for the OP’s reaction about it being “super-creepy” or “offensive”, it only offends me by feeling like an insult to my intelligence, to my taste, and to my self-control.
I don’t see it being so much “creepy” as a painfully over-done joke where the actress jokingly implies creepiness, but it’s not, it’s just dumb.
I have zero concern about it for kids, other than that they might see it and annoy lots of people by repeating it and giggling a lot. I expect no kid who’ll get the lame “joke” is not going to have heard worse.
Well, actually, there is an aspect that makes me feel dread with regard to children, which is that it shows them how insufferably stupid, annoying and relentlessly commercial our culture is, but that’s just the bleak truth, and there’s no escaping that, except to not watch ads and avoid pop culture.
Why not just advertise that you can use the cheese sauce for a lubricant?
@hmmmmmm , because “noods” sounds like “nudes.”
WHO-THE-FUCK calls Macaroni “Noods” or even “Noodles” for that matter?
Why don;t they just admit that the pasta has now become really low quality wallpaper-pasty stuff in their next commercial? It would save people the trouble of buying it,
I think it is very rude of them to try to convince ANYONE to buy that crap for ANY reason.
@Dutchess_III “because “noods” sounds like “nudes.”
Yes, we get the (piss-poor attempt at) joke. It’s not exactly clever. But is this really such an outrage? Even if some kids do see this, you think they haven’t heard “nude” before? Think they don’t hear (and probably say) much worse on a regular basis? Christ, living in a neighborhood with a lot of elementary school-aged kids I regularly overhear conversations between them peppered with phrases like “fuck you” and “suck my dick”.
I’m still convinced that the thing is merely a parody to play on the word “nudes”.
I think Anthony Weiner was either the creator or the inspiration for it.
It really is like an SNL commercial parody. I googled it to see if it’s really legit and it is.
I wouldn’t bother sending anyone a box of Kraft mac and cheese. The dollar would be better spent on a card, and the postage would be cheaper.
It’s a digital spot. Kids aren’t going to see it unless their parents show it to them or they already get unsupervised access to the internet (in which case they could see porn just as easily). Also, [citation needed] on Kraft macaroni and cheese being primarily eaten by kids, especially the basic stuff advertised in this commercial (as opposed to the ones shaped like dinosaurs or cartoon characters).
As a commercial, it is effective, in that you know what product is being promoted.
I don’t find it funny. Any chance at being humorous is ruined when the joke is explained.
Still, it’s better than cartoon bears pitching toilet paper telling you to “enjoy the go!”
Nudes (humans) would be better than cartoon bears in that instance.
