Is this the most contentious election year in your memory?
If there ever been a more politically hateful time in our history, I sure don’t remember it.

There have been other intense election. For me, there has never been one as clear cut.
It is in my memory, but I’m not that old. 2000 was contentious because of the election’s closeness and the disputed results (and the resolution that would never work nowadays). 1968 was contentious because of the overall turbulence in the country.
Well yeah, you have a President that mocks people to no end, spits mean rhetoric, lies about just everything and when people call him on it he and his base scream your all just a bunch of haters.
Now when questioned that he has divided the country, can take no blame and says the media has divided the country with their constant bashing of him.
The right did non stop bashing of Obama and I don’t remember him screaming you are all just haters .
Good point @SQUEEKY2. I’m just tired of it all and I think I’d vote for an organ grinders monkee if he’ll get us another stimulous check. Can my vote be bought you ask? Hell yes!
This one.
In 2016 it really wasn’t contentious because no one believed Trump could win.
Now we all know it’s possible, and we are all on our hind legs to make sure our side wins.
Yes for sure. I have never seen the Dems so angry as when Hillary lost, and I dont think they have recovered still. Instead of focusing on a winning candidate, they resorted to smear campaigns, impeachment and violent activism.
If Trump wins again, I’m fully expecting more of the same instead of a gracious response.
I don’t think it is contentious; it is pretty cut and dried. You can vote for Truth, Justice, and the American Way, or you can vote for Trump and his traitorous allies.
Negative. This year is cake.
This time four years ago the news was all election all the time. Now it is barely covered since there isn’t much to cover and there is that that pandemic that sucks up the oxygen.
Biden was VP for 8 years and has a long record. Trump was President for four years and has whatever the hell this has been.
Both men have clear records. I really don’t understand how anyone could be undecided at this point.
I agree @johnpowell If anyone is undecided on who to vote for president at this late stage in the game, they are either wishy washy, or incredibly stupid.
To add to @Call_Me_Jay‘s post -
“Proud Boys, stand back and stand by.”
Yes.
Did you hear the latest? Trump says CA has a water crisis because they’re dumping their water supply in the Pacific to help some little fishes that lives there.
Wish they’d toss Trump in there with them.
And if the Dems win, the Repubs are going to go nuts and unleash the Proud Boys, who have been standing back and standing by.
Although @jca2 The Repubs might be surprised which Proud Boys they unleash
@jca2 law enforcement will just kick their asses. And right behind law enforcement will be the military. I’m not worried about those slovenly nut jobs.
@Dutchess_III
Don’t count on that. These types have spent years infiltrating law enforcement. And that’s according to the FBI.
Interesting @Darth_Algar. Although the like to the “unredacted FBI assesment” (at the bottom of the article) doesn’t work.
Also interesting @hmmmmmm. But I’m am just not afraid of a bunch of fat, sloppy, beer chugging rednecks taking over the country.
@Dutchess_III
You might want to try again. The link works just fine.
“But I’m am just not afraid of a bunch of fat, sloppy, beer chugging rednecks taking over the country.”
You assume that’s the goal. It’s not. The goal is to sow as much chaos and violence as possible.
I’m not worried about it. I don’t think they will prevail. Not for long, anyway.
The link embedded at the bottom of the article you presented does not work. If it works for you then please, post the link here. I’d be interested in reading it.
Violence will be met with violence. Antifa and other far left groups will go after them with a vegeance. Don’t advocate that but I can potentially see it coming.
It will be the ripple effect of trump’s presidency. It will take some time for things to get back to “normal.” Maybe we’ll have another “Make love, not war” movement, and everybody will gather in a farmers field and get naked and listen to music.
@Dutchess_III. Works for me! Great minds think alike right? OK great minds and a moron : )
Nope @Darth_Algar. Still doesn’t work. I suppose I have to load Chrome or something to open it, but I don’t want to. But thanks for the information.
Sounds like a user problem then.
Obviously, which is why I said I probably need to download Chrome, but I don’t want to.
I was able to open the PDF on my phone, though, so I’ll look at it this evening.
Not sure if you’re attempting to insult me or what, but it isn’t working. I have no problem being a fallible human being.
It’s a pdf, so I probably had a PDF update that I ignored.
Downloading a newer version of PDF. See it that works.
So you acknowledge that it’s likely an issue on the user end, rather than a fault with the link itself, but take offense at my suggestion that it’s an issue on the user end?
Of course I acknowledge it was a problem at my end. I acknowledged it from the very beginning, but you seem hell bent on insulting me even after that and I don’t know why.
Anyway, let’s see if this worked…... Nope. It didn’t Oh well. As I said I’ll look through it tonight.
There was no insult there.
@Darth_Algar Your blunt posts sometimes come across as more harsh than you probably intend. A smiley face may have softened it up. :D
Except you said it 3 different times in 3 different ways, after I said it was on my end.
