Is it merely an illusion that our Republican politicians appear inordinately prone to covid infection?

What gives?

They refuse to wear masks because trump tells them not to. Democrats usually wear them.

Most everyone will get it sooner or later. Rick and I had it back in February. Maybe the Republicans think it’s a badge of honor to get it so they brag about it?

elbanditoroso's avatar

Not prone to it, just stupid. Republicans are the anti-science crowd and have been consistently ignoring warnings about meeting in groups and wearing masks.

I call it self-selecting. Democrats chose to be smart and take precautions., Republicans choose to follow their idiot leader.

They probably think washing your hands frequently is a Socialist plot.

All that I can say is, “Covid does not care about their feelings”.

Zaku's avatar

@ragingloli Is that because it’s some kinda’ commie China virus?

Looks to me from this article that the count of tested or presumed positive COVID cases in the US national legislature is:

Senate: 5 Republicans, 0 Democrats

House: 10 Republicans, 7 Democrats

Well, which party has resisted almost every measure to prevent the spread of the disease? It shouldn’t be surprising.

Meanwhile the latest I’ve heard is that George Soros and Nancy Pelosi deliberately released the virus at the White House to infect Republicans.

Overheard walking in the city today: Woman to her two friends, “Just wait until after the election – if Biden wins, this “virus” (makes air quotes with fingers) will just magically disappear, like he’s some kind of fucking hero. You know this whole this is a frigging hoax cooked up just to make Trump look bad.”

Wait—- I thought Trump has tested negative to the Corona virus

janbb's avatar

@Yellowdog No, he has it and nobody has released confirmation of a negative test since his hospitalization.

Yellowdog's avatar

You may refuse to acknowledge it, but he tested negative before this question was even posted.

Dutchess_III's avatar

He tested positive on October 5th. @Yellowdog! Nothing to be ashamed of. He’s just a human being. An extremely stupid one, but just a human.
He’s testing negative now because he’s recovered from it. If someone tested you for chicken pox, you’d test negative.

@Yellowdog Are you just trolling us?
Or are you really that blind to all that glows orange?

stanleybmanly's avatar

Halloween appropriate!

jca2's avatar

I see on the news today, Melania Trump says their son Baron tested positive for the virus.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I hope he’ll be OK.

chyna's avatar

Supposedly he had no symptoms.
