Up here our public health officer has mandated masks for all indoor public spaces, and these anti-maskers have completely lost their minds over this.
Are they not aware there is a world wide highly infectious pandemic going on right now?

I mean I hate wearing a mask, but do when ever I have to go in public.
It’s part of a feedback loop. People do dumb shit, government tries to stop it, people freak out more about government overreach, and fight back by doing the dumb shit harder, government intensifies efforts because of the consequences of dumb shit, both those who feared the government and fear the dumb shit feel justified in their belief.
To prove their right to live life freely.
Same reason kids say
You can’t make me.
Neener neener neener.
Peer pressure. Proving they are not afraid. Proving they believe in God. Proving they will not let the government control them. Proving they take care of themselves.
It’s like 14 year old spiting their parents.
Adolescent behavior.
The right to make there own choices even if its dire circumstances.
The right to die on the hill of what they perceive as correct.
I wonder if one or more of those very same protestors end up in a hospital with covid and multiple hospital staff trying to keep them alive, will thank them?
Will it take them to get the virus before they see the light?
OK Squeeky, you got me. I confess I am an agent for the New World Order. We created fake news about a fake virus to get everyone in line. The idea being that if we keep them busy fighting our Draconian masking efforts, they wont launch expeditions to the Ice Wall and discover the world is really flat. And we just don’t have enough Walmart basement jails to go around. I need more orders from Hillary, but we cant get her away from that damn pizza parlor.
Today I dropped some stuff off at Goodwill. There were 2 trucks ahead of me, so I settled in to wait. I had my mask on. Well, the driver of one of the trucks walked up and offered to load my stuff with his so I wouldn’t have to wait! He was about the nicest person I’ve ever met. And he didn’t have a mask on. Sigh.
Take the good with the bad I suppose, huh?
@Dutchess_III – yeah, kinda hard for someone to be the nicest person you’ve ever met when they don’t give a shit about the welfare of their fellow humans and actively work to put everyones health and safety at risk.
It was a conflicting moment for me.
