Why do some people not like cookies?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29195points) December 9th, 2020

I for one have never been interested. I do like Cookie Monster though. Yum yum! So what is not to like?

For the same reason some people prefer pie or brownies over cake.

In fact, ranking baked goods, I would go

Pie
Brownies
Cookies
.
.
.
Cake.

^ This is actually the correct ranking.

Cookies are awesome.

Maybe they are ice cream people. I read an article where some people like crunchy, some creamy, some dry. I’m not a creamy food person.

As far as what the jelly above wrote, my ranking is more like:

Cake
Brownie
Cookie
Ice Cream (but very picky on flavor)
Pie

Don”t like COOKIES ?!?!

Give me the names of these blasphemers at once!!

@JLeslie My list was of BAKED comestibles. Ice cream is a necessary adjunct to each of them.

The problem with cake is that the only person who gets a fresh slice is the very first slice; they seem to instantaneously go stale/dried out for the second and subsequent slices. That’s why ice cream I snot optional for cake, bur required.

(I would place cupcakes just under cookies. They stay fresh because of there individuality, but they are a mess to eat and then you have the paper left over.)

I never met a cookie I didn’t like. Cant beat ‘em with a stick.

@zenvelo I noticed you didn’t include ice cream, but most people give the choices cake, pie, or ice cream, often omitting cookies, or failing to mention might be a better term. My cake does not lose it’s freshness in a day, but I do put it in a nice air tight container, and I freeze some if I am not going to eat it within 2 days. I don’t like ice cream with cake generally, because I am not a big ice cream person anyway, and I don’t like soggy bread. I don’t want my cake mushy from ice cream, just like I don’t use bread to sop up sauce or gravy on my plate.

Why do some people not like cookies? Maybe they have raisins in them. And they are fattening and not required in the diet.

Oreos are absolutely disgusting. As a kid I would just eat the inside frosting and then put the cookie part back together and put it back into the package.

Other cookies are OK if they aren’t too gooey.

Can’t handle ice cream. Pure fat and sugar.

Cookie monster here. Love cookies. Can not fathom someone not liking cookies.

JLeslie's avatar

@gondwanalon There are plenty of cookies that aren’t gooey. What about pecan sandies, or coconut macaroons, iced cookies, lemon cookies, chocolate wafers, so many choices.

@gondwanalon , If you don’t like ice cream because it is all fat and sugar, what do you think is i the Oreo filler? It does not have much in the way of flavor.

Some cookie packages make a point of saying that the cookies inside are soft. Soft cookies is a contradiction in terms. If it is not crunchy then it is not a cookie. I think of cakes and brownies as more formal desserts. Lately, I have cut back on sweets.

Ya know, given my history here in the lagoon, I am highly offended at this question. ~

For the same reason why do some people don’t like grammar, they just don’t not know.

Do you think Mrs. Fields was secretly married to Cookie Monster?

What must their foreplay have been like?

gondwanalon's avatar

@LostInParadise That was when I was a kid and when I loved all the sweets, candies and ice cream.

@JLeslie Those examples sound tasty. But like Jack LaLanne said, “If it tastes good, spit it out”. HA!
