None. TV journalists aren’t interested in giving you the news, but in getting you to watch their TV channel so their advertisers will pay the network.

Get your news from good newspapers. I get the LA Times.

None.

Via computer, I regularly read Heather Cox Richardson (who’s actually a Harvard history professor, who has just been posting US news summaries each day, which are refreshingly intelligence and not corporate).

Lately, for political news, Chris Cuomo, but TV news is rarely up to par with really good balance journalism. It’s more theatre, and what we call news often isn’t in my opinion. The word news is used very loosely. Is it journalism? I guess.

I do think it’s useful to know what the average person is consuming, and I think a lot of people watch cable news. I do feel it lets me know some of what’s happening in the country.

Chris usually does let both Republicans and Democrats speak, which I like.

I watch a little local news since covid started, I used to completely ignore local news. I have no idea their names, but most often it’s ABC.

Did all the people who answered “none” actually read the question?

For local stuff and basic headlines, I watch CBS, both local and National in the morning as I prep for the day. I like these people better than the other people.
These are my only TV news sources.

David Muir on ABC Nightly News.
Why? Well have you SEEN him? He’s pretty!

I only watch Jim Sterling.

I will sometimes put on PBS Newshour with Judy Woodruff but I generally prefer to read news, not watch it.

Nobody. I watched Huntley and Brinkley when I was a kid, and Cronkite before he died.

Ditto @elbanditoroso Walter Crankcase and Huntly Brinkley. Used to enjoy Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes, he was bad to the bone, and the commentary by the old cranky dude. Andy Rooney I think his name was. Grouchy old fart but usually spot on about things.

Forgot to say Fareed Zakaria on Sundays. I record his GPS show. I assume that counts.

I was going to say Rachel Maddow, but she is more of a commentator than journalist. She is the most insightful news person going.

I used to watch Tucker Carlson because he told the truth. Since FNC turned liberal they will lose their real journalists.

@si3tech

Good joke. Seriously.

Yes, the guy of which Faux News itself argued in court that “no reasonable viewer” would take him seriously.

I watch 60 Minutes every Sunday.

@Zaku I watch Prof. Richardson once a week at least.

@Dutchess_III @JLeslie you might like her too if you’re doing FB.

@chyna Agree, he is pretty. Like Superman’s alter ego, Clark Kent.
