The election was more than a month ago. Why are people still pretending that Biden lost? Even worse, why are people still asking election questions?

Asked by chyna (51598points) December 11th, 2020 from iPhone

I thought the whole trump vs. Biden fight would be over by now and we could settle in and see how Biden will run the country. But it seems trumpets won’t accept what has been decided by the country. How do we get past this and shut up their lies?

Move on and ignore the idiots. Republicans with any sense of propriety or even common sense have accepted the election results and are moving on with their business. These are right wing fringe idiots who are pushing this, along with some Repub politicos who somehow think they have something to gain by pandering to these morons.

Yeah, good luck with that!

I’m not surprised at all. When media like MSNBC said once Biden wins the country will calm down, I thought, what does that mean? MSNBC will stop with their constant barrage of anti-Trump? They will calm down?

When Gore conceded to Bush I was depressed and angry. Nothing catastrophic, but the feeling was there. What’s different is, back then there weren’t as many lunatic messages traveling across social media and the airwaves to magnify those feelings in people and a lot of Democrats back then didn’t have the same fear levels as what we see today in politics.

People with strong moral convictions can’t calm down easily, they feel like they are fighting for something that has no alternative and doing anything is worth winning. My Trump friends are still posting legal ways Trump can fight. I assume the alt-right continues to post that the election was stolen across social media.

In a way, I think Trump filing the lawsuits is good. Republicans can feel he tried. Their judges and justices have said no to the court cases. Maybe it will give them closure compared to Trump just conceding a month ago.

They are trying to foment dissent while inspiring T’s supporters to give him more cash.
They are attacking the very basis of democracy.while wrapping themselves in the American flag.
Their claims are false but fear of T’s wrath and selfishness encourage them to continue.

Some people drank too much of 45’s kool-aid!!! Most of the news organizations are as hypocritical as 45 in that they are in it simply for the ratings!!! Part of the problem is that many feel a lot like I have felt…I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. 45 has NEVER lost graciously & I give him enough credit that IF there is a way to cheat, he will find it. As of Nov 7, 2020, I’ve STOPPED saying 45’s name!!! As we get closer to inauguration day, I’m feeling more confident that 45 is really ready to go home & be out of the shit storm that he created around himself.

I NO longer watch any of the news channels because when I hear that 5 letter nasty “T” word, I change the channel. After going through ALL of them, I tune out & ENJOY my 45-free life!!! Now, IF that changes, I’ll deal with it then; however, I’m going to ENJOY my break from 45 for as long as it lasts!!!

I think that many a Q on here is asked simply to agitate the remaining die hard 45 followers. We know that they know that it is over, but it is still somewhat entertaining to see how many different ways that can create excuses…excellent comic relief!!!

I’m now praying that on Jan 21, 2020, that EVERYBODY finds it i their hearts to COMPLETELY IGNORE 45 & his name will slowly fade from earshot. One thing I’ve started doing in my REAL life is when people start talking politics (NO matter which side) I tell them that the election is OVER & I don’t have an opinion that they are wanting to hear, so DROP IT & I simply walk away. Next time I see them, they don’t even bring up politics.

By Feb 1, Biden will have been in office long enough that he will be being attacked on his own merit & maybe that will put an end to the 45 era!!!

JLeslie's avatar

^^Everyone ignore 45? LMAO. That won’t happen. It might fade a little, but in a year when politicians start marketing themselves for the 2022 elections it will ramp up again on both sides. Actually, just the vaccine situation will keep the fighting alive. CNN snd MSNBC seem to be blaming Trump that some people might not take the vaccine. He’s always been pro-vaccine and wants credit for its quick delivery.

LadyMarissa's avatar

^^ He’s NOT pro-vaccine. He ONLY promoted the vaccine as a ploy for his reelection…the quick delivery was for HIS OWN self-serving interest namely 4 more years!!! He wants his name on it because he has NO other legacy & it’s killing him that Biden might come out smelling like a rose after all the shit he piled up ahead of him.

45 has a VERY short attention span & I’m hoping that HE will lose interest fast once he’s away from the office!!! I might be wrong, but I have serious doubts that he’ll be willing to help any of the cowards who are running in 2022; & although he’ll make waves about a run in 2024, he will peter out before then. He’s dealing with cognitive issues already & by 2024 he should be way out in left field (NO pun intended) mentally speaking. That, plus I’m hearing rumors that Tucker Carlson is thinking of running in 2024 & I don’t think he would even consider it IF he thought 45 was going to be the competition!!!

It’s more about the last-minute changes that were not voted on, than Trump.

“Texas does not ask this Court to reelect President Trump, and Texas does not seek to disenfranchise the majority of Defendant States’ voters,” Paxton wrote, adding, “Texas asks this Court to recognize the obvious fact that Defendant States’ maladministration of the 2020 election makes it impossible to know which candidate garnered the majority of lawful votes.”

Paxton asserted that respondents in the four states did “precious little to defend the merits of their actions,” which he claimed violated the Constitution as well as put the integrity of elections in every other state in peril. Paxton concluded that the court should hear the state’s case.

Paxton filed the case late Monday night, alleging that the four swing states had “tainted the integrity” of the presidential election with mail-in ballots and other changes that weren’t voted on, but enacted

. The charge electrified Trump’s allies after the president on Wednesday called the dispute “the big one” on Twitter. Seventeen states, led by Missouri, filed an amicus brief supporting Paxton on Wednesday. Two more states, Arizona and Ohio, added their names to the list Thursday.

Trump will keep stirring the pot . . . until one day . . . .

I’m waiting for him to go into exile in Ukraine or some other country where he can’t be extradited for New York taxes and a paternity and rape charges.

Hint he will not wait until Biden’s inauguration !

JLeslie's avatar

@LadyMarissa Is Trump telling people not to get the vaccine? When asked directly months ago he said he will take the vaccine.

Do you want to promote that Trump supports the vaccine so life can get back to normal or not? There are plenty of clips of him you can patch together to promote the vaccine. Do you want the Trumpers to get vaccinated? Or, you’re afraid any mention of Trump being in favor of the vaccination will causes Trump haters to not take it?

This is ridiculous.

I thought once the election was over, the Trump derangement conspiracy theories would subside. I guess we were both wrong.

Trump not only enabled racism and misogyny, he has glorified insanity. He’s shown the power that insanity can have.

Demosthenes's avatar

I don’t know what else we expected from a president who claimed that the election was rigged in 2016 even though he won. We live in age where people have corralled themselves into online echo chambers where they are constantly fed stories that confirm their beliefs (no matter how reputable or disreputable those stories are) and cast doubt on reality. Half the population was primed to not accept the results of this election if it didn’t go for Trump. And considering the fact that elections here last for multiple years prior to election day (this isn’t the norm in every country) I’m not surprised an election is now extending long past election day as well. But if there’s one thing this country is good at it’s refusing to learn from mistakes, so I can’t imagine what the 2024 election will be like.

JLeslie's avatar

@Dutchess_III I might use that line. How much power insanity can have. So true. Not just Trump, it’s true all too often with too many situations.

Thought we saw enough of that ^^^ with Caligula. George III. Ludwig II. Nebuchadnezzar. Not to mention the crazy neighbor and the delusional boss and the freakishly controlling spouse.

Mad people dominate their environments because they don’t recognize any normal limitations or consequences and they have unshakable, unarguable convictions, which can drive behavior that others can’t anticipate or cope with. (Speaking as a layperson here, of course.) Put a little political power behind that, or even just a pile of money, and you can terrorize a lot of people. And leave lasting trauma.

Look at Henry the 8th. He couldn’t get a divorce so he started his own church. Making new rules when you don’t like the old rules…...

Hitler started his own religion too…..I think.

They are asking questions HERE as a long term strategy of disinformation pushing an authoritarian agenda of mistrust and disruption. Now, exactly. WHO is it who stands to benefit most from such an investment?

stanleybmanly's avatar

@Jaxk A big GA for your answer, since I believe the current derangement must certainly be with those who claim he won.
