Do you think a mask violation justifies Tom Cruise's meltdown or do you think he was too harsh?

Here’s a link. If you don’t like the source, it’s all over the interwebs.

Tom Cruise goes ballistic on the set of his latest movie, because apparently some staff were not wearing masks properly.

Do you think it’s justified or do you think he’s an asshole?

He was a tad harsh but ,but it is a safety concern he doesn’t need a set or studio being shut down because people feel wearing a mask infringes their rights.

I mean people are getting all bent out of shape wearing a mask, you know companies could put mask policies in place long after Covid is history,if you want to visit that company you have to wear a mask type thing.

Both. He was an arrogant asshole BEFORE the meltdown. So this isn’t really out character for him.

It doesn’t help that he has Napoleon Complex otherwise known as Short Man’s Syndrome.

Asking nicely doesn’t work, we’ve seen that over and over. So. What if he was harsh? They violated an agreement for the continued health (and employability) of everyone on the set.
I think Tom Cruise is, in general, probably a jerk, but not in this case.

We’re all safe until he starts jumping on the sofa again.

He’s an asshole. Can’t stand the guy. Go jump on a sofa and stuff it, Cruise.

I think that tone, the threats, and the cursing were ridiculous. Seemed like a tantrum rather than true concern.

I think like many of us, he’s just frustrated that after all the deaths, job losses and sickness, people still don’t take it seriously. I understand it, but he could have been more polite and professional.

On the other hand, sometimes you have to throw fits before some people will listen. Just ask my husband. :)

He’s always been an asshole.

Hard to judge whether Tom was just power tripping and being an ass or just like lots of other people out there with fears and concerns brought by the pandemic acted within reason.

I don’t know him personally, so I can’t judge whether he’s an ass or not, but I can certainly understand his frustration.

I think in the workplace, the correct thing to do is take the offenders into the office and tell them that this isn’t going to be tolerated, and don’t let it happen again, and then remind the group that there have been some people not wearing masks correctly and everyone needs to make sure they’re wearing masks properly. Throwing a tantrum in the workplace is never appropriate.

I saw that he took a few days off after that rant. Bad publicity for him.

He’s too harsh. After all, he’s a Scientologist.

hmmm sounds like he is seriously worried of losing his security, home, job, career.
Ranted far too long almost makes me think “is this and act” as he IS an actor?
Is it a publicity stunt to advertise his next movie?
All these are things to consider.
Otherwise just scared as the rest of us.

Both.
He’s also probably upset that Top Gun 2 hasn’t been released. It may go directly to video, which will cut into any profits he hoped to get, assuming he made the movie for a percentage.
