<SPOILERS HERE> What do you think of the movie Tenet?

Asked by filmfann (52488points) December 19th, 2020

Released a few months ago, after being delayed by the pandemic, it was touted as a film that should be seen on the big screen. It is now available on home video.
Was it what you hoped or expected?
Are such events possible?

Find it terribly disappointing. Like whatever moviemaking magic Nolan possesses none of that went into this film.

As soon as I read the title the flick lost all credence.

I just bought it, but have not watched it yet. I hope it will be similar to Unitinu.

I find the physics unworkable. While it is possible an object can have a reverse temporal life, it would still be subject to the laws of motion in a normal linear time.
It reminded me a bit of Interstellar, which also changed possible physics to abstract impossibility.

After having watched it, it was meh.
No real characters (even the protagonist is just called, even by himself “the protagonist”, who has no personal stakes in the story, so they throw in a generic damsel in distress), In a run-of-the-mill prevent-the-end-of-the-world plot, made unnecessarily convoluted by non-sensical temporal mechanics that fall apart as soon as you take a closer look at them.
Nolan tries to appear clever by playing with time, but fails, because not only does it not make any sense, it also makes the plot harder to follow.
Even the action scenes were boring and lackluster.

^^Ha ha glad you saw what I saw. Big disappointment coming from Nolan. The only two films of his that I still like are Batman Begins and Inception.
