Last year we had a white elephant exchange, people brought wrapped presents, and we got numbers telling us who chose first. Some of the gifts were very nice, some silly, some goofy. It was a lot of fun.
This year, nothing, zip, nada.
We usually do the white elephant $20 limit.
Voluntary gifts with good coworker friends is usually wine, chocolates and a material item. Or even lottery tickets or $25 gift cards to a restaurant.
I’ve received specialty meats (not unusual in cattle country), tons of liquor, fuzzy socks, coffee mugs, gift cards for gas, movie theatre gift cards, etc from co-workers.
They do a cookie and sock exchange. I do not participate
None now. In the past I’ve done secret Santa (don’t like it) and I barely remember, but it was things like candy, CD’s, low value gift cards, kitchen gadgets, towels, oven mitts, candles, lotions, lottery tickets.
How dare you use a variant of a four letter word on this holidayest of holidays? My fave extended family Kidnap Kris Kringle Krap (where you can swap your opened present with someone else’s opened present) was when the argument over who owned wot got so hot shot not pot blot slot sot zot dot i thot fisticoff coff.
What the hell are you saying?
