Do you suppose some other still-friendly nation's 007 or IMF is working on a game plan to save (or restore) democracy in the U.S.?

If not, why not?

No.

The damage is done and it’s permanent.

Whatever we have left after this mess, it won’t be real democracy – And the best thing for any other “friendly nations” is to avoid us and keep this sickness out of their own systems.

IMF and democracy? I think you have the wrong entity.

What is this “democracy” that you feel that has been – or is about to be – lost in the US?

I don’t think other countries are working on it for us, but I don’t feel our democracy is completely shattered. There were tests to our democracy, but it has held up. The courts have favored the constitution and rule of law overall. The politicians and government workers who truly had a challenge to their vote in their states chose democracy and truth.

We need to somehow get the American people more united again. To me the question is can it be done from the grass roots up? Or, do we have to rely on leaders to lead the way to a better place? I don’t think it can work if we leave it to the leaders, they are less and less loyal to America if they perceive they can gain more power by dividing us.

I was in a discussion today led by a 15 year old, and she said she had stopped being friends with her friends who supported Trump. Is that good or bad for the future of America?

Oh, sorry, I’m afraid I was too oblique. This is the IMF I was talking about:

An elite covert operations unit carries out highly sensitive missions subject to official denial in the event of failure, death or capture. (IMDb)

I was somewhat facetiously attempting a little bit of darkish levity, having so often wondered while watching those spy movies if anyone from the other countries would ever send (or had ever sent) agents and teams on rescue missions to the U.S. You know, defeating coups, freeing political prisoners, halting plagues, unseating dictators, derailing massive looting schemes, that sort of thing.

We always liked to see our enlightened selves as the world’s vigilantes. Now we’re sunk in an incredible mire. Is anyone coming to the rescue? That was the fanciful intent of my question. Because I don’t think so.

I heard a ship of peace loving aliens almost touched down, took a good look at what was going on through perusing Fluther, and beamed themselves back up.

I would prefer to think that rescue will come from within.

Remember what Winston said in the classic novel 1984 – ”“If there was hope, it must lie in the proles, because only there, in those swarming disregarded masses, eighty-five percent of the population of Oceania, could the force to destroy the Party ever be generated.”

It is also possible that two foreign spy agencies from two different countries HAVE presented evidence of election fraud and this will be presented to congress by POTUS.
