Did Barr resign specifically to avoid participation in the phone call?

I can just imagine his face at Trump telling him he planned to call Georgia to complain

Knowing trump it was a spontaneous call. No planning or forethought what so ever. As usual.

Actually, I fear to discover WHY Barr resigned!!! I’m guessing that he was appalled at some of the ideas that 45 was floating about the coup. People here keep saying that 45 doesn’t shock them anymore, but I’m thinking that we ALL are about to receive the shock of a lifetime. This man does NOTHING small!!!

Carl Bernstein thinks that call is worse than Watergate. At this point it really does not matter. There isn’t anything that Trump can do. His ineptitude is his one saving grace.

It may be his only defense in his upcoming trials—cognitive ineptitude.

That’s just the phone call we have a recording of. I don’t expect it was the first one like it. And there were the 60 or so ridiculous lawsuits. I think Barr resigned because of similar/related and other things that we mostly probably don’t know about.

Barr had to resign to get himself out of Beth hole he had dug on his career. He is going to be challenged on his license to practice law, and left while it was still possible to not be disbarred.

But just think about his prospects had he been on the phone as he was on Trump’s Ukraine extortion call.
