I don’t care if these are Trump supporters or not. They need to be arrested, shot if it comes to it, and identified. The crowd who marched to the capitol was nonviolent. I have no way to know if the violent crowd assaulting the Capitol are Trump supporters or agitators, and neither do any of you.

Trump supporters did not want today’s proceedings disrupted because the words and actions of the House and Senate and the President need to be heard and recorded, even though this matter will not be resolved. The words of POTUS and the House and Senate members will be studied for centuries. What the Republican members were proposing needed to be heard and voted on, and every Trump supporter knows that

Maybe. If federal troops were brought in to deal with the mobs in Portland, I don’t see why they shouldn’t be in D.C. protecting government buildings, which we were told time and again is one of their duties. They shouldn’t shirk their duties just because these protesters are right-wing.

@jca2 – I don’t see this any different than the protests that waged across the country this past summer. The media, politicians and even Kamala all called them mostly peaceful. Even while buildings burned in the background. We were told that protests were our right, even our Responsibility. Now it is a national outrage. I didn’t agree with the protests then and I don’t agree with them now. Don’t encourage them when democrats riot but act incensed when republicans do it. It’s all the same kettle of fish. You reap what you sow.

Try applying the same logic to the protestors that were burning down Minneapolis or the ones that were barricading the autonomous zone in Seattle or the ones laying siege to the courthouse in Portland or the ones attacking the Whitehouse. or on and on last summer.

I see that some of you have gotten your wish that the protestors be shot. One woman was shot by the Capital Police (apparently) and to make your heart jump with joy, she was a military veteran. When Kamala said the protests will and should continue, do you suppose she was talking about yesterday’s protest or only the protests she likes. You can’t lionize the riots for 9 months and then suddenly switch when the don’t serve your purpose. You can’t cheer the riots when they’re burning and looting Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and then be scream fowl when they don’t serve your purpose.

Although I do think that any time someone does something stupid like storm a government building, even if it’s in a mob of other people, they take a chance that anything might happen, including violence.

Hmm what is it that I often hear from conservatives? “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes”? How come that applies to people who resist arrest but doesn’t apply to people who participate in a violent mob storming the Capitol?

To be clear, I don’t think an unarmed person should’ve been shot. I just think it’s interesting that whether or not it’s justified seems to have a lot to do with the race and politics of the person shot.

@Dutchess_III She was breaking into a room where I believe they were congresspeople behind them. Their duty is to protect them. There have been actual death threats made and who’s going to pat them down to see if they have a weapon or if this person has been on of the hundreds of crazy people who have issued a death threat? It is reasonable to assume she meant to do them harm. It did the trick too. After she was shot everyone scrambled away.
On the other side of things there was a guard who was escorting a rioter female down the stairs while holding her hand so she won’t trip? What the hell was that? She had no problem breaking in.
Also, a police officer is now dead from the beating a mob gave him.

On the morning news today, they said the woman that was shot posted the day before “Nothing will stop us.” Apparently a bullet stopped her.

The people who assaulted the cop and caused his death need to be tracked down and charged with murder. Oh wait – Blue Lives Matter the the right wing right? My bad – or is that only when it is politically convenient?
