What do you think about changing eye color with contacts?

Sometimes it’s a subtle change like blue to aqua or indigo, but sometimes people with brown eyes choose blue contacts, and I guess vice versa? I’ve seen green contacts also.
Is it just a fashion thing to you? Do you find it strange? Is it the same as changing hair color, applying make-up, or getting a tan?
Do you notice eye color? Do you wish you had a different eye color? Can you imagine it?

Not my style, but I have friends who’ve experimented and I’ve actually been impressed with some of their looks.
Seems harmless as far as any physical effects. Even less so than changing hair color.
It’s not something that interests me, and not something I’ve ever given much thought to for myself or cared about others doing. If people do it and they’re happy doing it, to each his own.
I had green hard contact lenses many, many years ago. They made my hazel eyes green. I got a lot of compliments, but when I switched to soft lenses I didn’t miss them. It’s like wearing jewelry – just something that’s not for me.
I don’t see a problem if your eye doctor agrees.
For what reason? What’s the point of doing so?
It’s weird. Cosplayers do it.
People change their hairstyles, their hair colour, they paint their fingernails, glue on fake fingernails, wear makeup, get fake tans, inject ink into their skin, get piercings in their ears, nose, lips, tongue, nipples, and genitals, they get fake eyelashes, wear push-up bras to make their breasts look bigger and they get cosmetic surgery because they are unhappy with how their body and face looks.
But coloured contact lenses are “weird”.
I don’t notice eye color very often. As a girl I heard stories of Hitler injecting dye to try to make people’s eyes blue, so there is that, but that is not the first thing that comes to my mind when I notice people have on colored contacts. Although, I do think eye color should not be something that makes someone self conscious or unhappy. Like other eye colors are better. For some reason it bothers me more than other things. Like I am envious of people with thick fabulous hair, but eye color I just don’t think that way at all.
I think it can be very pretty when the contact is a similar shade to the person’s own eye color, but when it is noticeable I don’t like it, but then when fake eye lashes and fake hair are very extreme I think it is “too much” also.
First a health warning: only use contact lens available from an optometrist.
I’d blind myself in one eye so one was brown, another blue and the third eye gold.
