How many new Jellies will we need before the admins take out a loan to upgrade this aquarium?

A bake sale might pay for some emojis…

Unfortunately, zero.

A lot of people have said it before that the founders don’t want to make any development to this site.

They get money from advertising, but I think other than maintenance, it doesn’t pay for them to do many changes at this point. Is there something specific you were looking for?

As @Mimishu1995 says, it’s been mentioned many times that the creators of the site have moved on, are doing no new development, and only pay for the server and do troubleshooting out of the goodness of their hearts. I doubt there’s really much of an income stream from advertising any more either.

@janbb: When you look at the site, not logged on as a Jelly, there is advertising.

janbb's avatar

^^ I know but I just don’t think they’re making much money from it.

We are as you see us, and lucky to be so.

I’m thinking about graphing how long it takes before a newly active user starts talking about how to improve us.

JLoon's avatar

@jca2 – I’m actually pretty easy to please but maybe enough tweaks to let us put up music videos, paste in images, or flag/block suspicious posts. What would you like to see?
@Jeruba – Great idea, I wanna break some kind of record! But could you post your graph…?

janbb's avatar

@JLoon You can paste images using tinyurl.com and you can flag posts that violate standards as you see them.

Videos or songs can be posted by using the url and you can even use markup language for the link.

If I wanted to flag your post, I could use the little flag at the bottom right of your post that says, “Flag as…” You can then list the reasons you are flagging it and a moderator will mod it off or not when they see it.

Stick around kid, you might learn something.

@janbb – Alas, most of that stuff doesn’t show up or work on my mobile. But maybe I could learn more, if I’m allowed to copy everybody’s notes ;)

I’m pretty sure we are for the most part dinosaurs. I would be surprised if the population of regulars hasn’t dropped by half since my arrival. Which reminds me again—where’s Flo? Our extinction has been often predicted as imminent since I found this place. I expect most of us will live to see it.

@JLoon If you scroll to the bottom of any page, there’s a way to switch to the desktop site from mobile. You can flag things from there. You can also directly contact the mods using a button at the top of a desktop page.

I only stay around for the members who are still here. I’ve made friends and have met some during travels.

Thanks Jake!

I’ll do my best ;)

Well heck @jake! I didn’t know that! Thanks. I just learned something new.

Switching to desktop activates all kinds of features like flagging and the ”@“feature. It’s a pain in the butt to use tho.
