Are aquamarines supposed to be see-through? Or blue throughout?

This 3 carat aqua , pear shaped , has a center that is clear. Is this normal ? Good or negative?

Is it very thick in the middle? Perhaps it comes to a point? I think depending on how it is cut, the color and transparency can vary.
