Why is Amazon going to publish 2 articles which result being the same book?

Asked by luigirovatti (3002points) January 27th, 2021

If you don’t believe me, here’s the two articles:

https://www.amazon.com/Better-off-Dead-Reacher-English-ebook/dp/B08S9FJ9YG/

https://www.amazon.com/Better-Off-Dead-Reacher-Novel-ebook/dp/B08SBMCSQQ/

I assure you, they look identical in every way: from the plot description, to the authors reported, even the release date is the same. The only thing that differs is the cover. So, why did Amazon do such a thing?

The listings are from two different publishers and it looks like one might be the UK edition. They have different ASIN numbers and only one is available for pre-order as yet.

Digging a little deeper, the publisher of the first one is definitely a UK publisher.

Crisis solved.

As I mentioned before, a book can be released under many covers, some only slightly different and some entirely different, right down to the title, but what’s inside is the same. This happens.
