Fluther, and you tube surfing.
Drawing and writing and hallucinations. It’s not like I neglected them until then but the pandemic did give me even more time to focus on them.
Making Sushi.
I’ve probably made about 200 rolls now and have improved my rolling and cutting techniques to a relatively competent level. My rice consistency is perfect.
I am also trying different fillings. Some work; some do not.
This morning I made tuna and mango: one roll with rice on the inside, another with rice and sesame seeds on the outside. Both ways worked well!. The flavor combo was delicious.
I feel creatively stifled while in lockdown with kids remote learning, finishing my PhD and searching for a job in a poor economy and failing higher education system (where I would traditionally be looking for academic jobs).
We started lockdown by learning to bake a new thing weekly, but that lasted about a month (and I still haven’t lost the weight). I have done a few puzzles. I started playing with alcohol inks. I recently paid for an online yoga membership which I have used a few times. But mostly I am exhausted and overwhelmed with poor mental health.
Cooking, but nothing very significant. A few new recipes.
Venturing into new drawing and painting mediums. My usual art mediums are pencil and ink, but last month I started drawing with pastels
Oh! I almost forgot! I installed two of these bidet toilet seats at my home! Toto C200 Washlet
I can do an install very quickly now.
They are almost as good as the OP’s item ”(C)”.
What lockdown? All I do is run around. Tai Kwon Do for a grandson, soccer practice twice week for two grand daughters. And a not so bright boss who acts like the world will end if I don’t drop whatever I’m doing and go cover some boondock contract for him. A lockdown would be a vacation for me. What, I cant go anywhere ‘till further notice? Yessss!
Paradoxically, the more time I have to myself, the less I do with it.
I’ve taken out my drawing tablet and have been glancing at it a few times. I can’t actually draw particularly well, but wanted to learn.
I don’t know if it fits under the creativity umbrella, but I re-learned math I have not practiced since high school. Khan Academy has wonderful online courses.
Algebra and geometry are refreshers for me. I hope to move on to calculus, which I never studied before.
