Is it possible to turn off cursor blinking in text fields, so as to treat it with a system-wide staticness?

I hope I’m not asking a stupid question now… Even though I’ve been Mac user since 86, my sore eyes let me find the right method of doing this.
This can’t be done through the Text Edit preferences, so you’ll need to Google a third party app. I’m sure there’s one out there somewhere. Beware installing it though, unless you’ve got Leopard Time Machine! What cat are you running?
Ah, psyla to the rescue. This is one of those kind of “forums” where you actually get to comment on your replies, before they’ve actually been written. (Just finding that a bit interesting, not the least from a philosophical kind of angle.)
Edit: oops. dang, psyla was too fast.
I’m using OS X 10.4.11 on a PPC machine.
Edit: I’m somewhat relieved that it wasn’t me missing something. But I’ll have to look out for some 3rd party app for this, then. (Appreciating any suggestions if someone knows of something.) Thanks, psyla.
Hmmm. Thinking about it again. I’m almost sure, I’ve seen some sort of preference for this, but I might be mixing up something I’ve seen in a particular app, as opposed to an option available within the OS itself…
Panther is still “new” enough to accept recent developer apps. There are actually more apps available for the older OS’s. I bet there’s a sudo command to stop the flashing in Terminal out on Google Mac forums.
I’m on an iTouch right now so I can’t look it up on my Tiger ‘book…
Okies. Appreciate your response, psyla. Be seeing you around. (I’ll post here if I find any further clues on the subject.)
I remember reading something about this about four years ago written by David Pogue. Let me know if you find it, I’d like to stop my own accursed cursor flashing!
my cursor keeps flashing all the time how do i stop it completely
