Can you describe a situation where you were wrong all along and how you felt when you realized it?

It was a long time ago, but yeah, I was wrong about my first serious girlfriend. We were really close, and never had any spats. Should have married her, but I felt we were too young. Oh well, shoulda coulda woulda, huh? How did I feel? Like crap. But it was my own fault, I should have taken my chances and married her when I could. Still bothers me sometimes, to this day. I try not to think about it much, because I love my wife dearly, and thinking about my first love makes me feel guilty. And I suppose I still have feelings for her as well, but oh well. Life sucks, and then you die.

When a child we were taught to trust as everyone told the truth?
I trusted too easily until I got burned a few times in relationships.

I learned the hard way that trust should be earned not given blindly.
That behind a smiling face is sometimes a good liar.

That sometimes a person who gives little expects much more from others.
Its their game.

I found out much too late that my good friend over ten year period was just manipulating me to pay for lunches when she drove out of town on excursions.

( she was going anyways and would ask me to accompany her, thus I felt that I should pay
for lunch but soon realized when I paid it was at more expensive restaurants! I have since a

few years ago stopped being her friend and I now see that she did that to others as well.
( she was friendly for a reason).

I was extremely disappointed in her an others like her out for gain at another’s expense only.

I still cringe at the thought that some people are like that and embarrassed to had it done to me not realizing that that is what our friendship was based on?
