Do you find yourself being super productive during the few minutes before a scheduled Zoom meeting?

In the 20 minutes before my call I had some dinner, changed my shirt, adjusted my wood burning stove, cleaned off the table, read the minutes and financial report and probably did a half dozen other things that I should have been doing all day.
What about you?

Actually, often I am very productive. I hadn’t thought about it until now. Put a load of laundry in the washer, clean the kitchen, or Swiffer the floor, or some sort of 15 minute task.
Sometimes I log in, no video, and then get dressed and pull my hair back into a ponytail to be presentable. A lot of my zooms start at 10:00am and half the time I’m still in my pajamas. Forces me to get my act together. Then after the zoom I do some exercise or do a curbside pick-up, and then take my shower after.
If the zoom has people I haven’t seen in a while, and everyone is chatting, then sometimes I socialize with them before the meeting starts. I like that a lot.
Sometimes. But I think it points to other patterns I’ve seen for a long time about when I’m productive and when I’m not. I’m often most productive when I have something else I’m “supposed” to be doing.
I too get more done when I am supposed to be doing something else.
For example: “Ok I need to do the taxes… but the car needs an oil change so I’ll do that first. The car has 7501 miles on that oil. How can I sit at the computer when that oil is corroding in the engine? If I change it now the additives will be neutralizing the acids and lubricating while I am doing the taxes.”
It seems I like when there is a fixed deadline. That gives me a tremendous burst of energy and drive to accomplish stuff that I ignored all day. It is a bit like getting my enthusiasm for home preparation before an oncoming storm. Tell me a storm is approaching and show me the radar and I’ll take care of everything that should have been done months ago.
@JLeslie I also like to get to the meeting about 3–4 minutes early. The chatting is fun.
I do not do zoom calls. I do not even have a mic or a webcam.
I do all the correspondence by mail, phone, or discord chat.
