Will drinking a sprite soda make me bloated?

Asked by honeybun35 (1031points) February 19th, 2021

Sometimes I need something bubbly not to feel nausea. I only drink Canada Dry and Sprite. I am afraid of the bloating.

Have you considered carbonated soda water? They are bubbly and the flavored ones have a nice hint of flavor.

A quick search shows:
Sprite: 38 grams added sugars, 140 calories
Ginger ale: 36 grams added sugars, 140 calories.

If you start drinking one of those every day without changing your activity level or food intake, in 15 days you will have taken in an extra 3000 calories which can be 1 pound of fat.

Yeah, my favorite is the slightly tangerine-flavored carbonated water from Trader Joe. (0 calories, $1 / 2 liters).

Or even moreso, their unflavored carbonated water mixed with some apple juice.

Okay that sounds good.

Any soda can make you bloated. Although sprite won’t make you bloated but you will get a bad stomachache when you drink too much.

I thought it helped with the nausea.

We use a soda-stream that carbonates tap water. You can by flavoring kits and make all kinds of flavored soda water drinks very cheaply with 0 calories.

You really need to get yourself to a doctor.

Isn’t that the same thing but more time consuming?
