How does the biological process work in plants that helps them point towards the sun?

In short, plants have a chemical called auxin, which moves away from blue light rays to areas having less light. The auxins stimulate growth on the side that does not get light, causing the plant to bend toward the light.

If plants have intelligence then maybe they just decide to move toward the light.

I loved my botany 101 class in college, and the story linked above is one of the reasons.
